Episode I Part 2 is finished {Austin Texas Sci-fi webseries}

Finally! The next installment in the 7 Shades of Lenity franchise… a web series shot and taking place in Austin, Texas.

The editing and sound design are done, along with credits.

The only thing missing is the marketing campaign we’re launching to bring extra media attention to us.

We working on raising (read saving) funds for said campaign, and will launch it within 2 weeks.

This will include a press release, hopefully a new logo, and a lot of clicks on the website!

We are working with a marketing professional on this, and looking for a huge bang!

There is a huge audience out there, and we’re hoping to reach as many of those folks as possible.

Thanks for all your patience, and we sincerely hope you’ll dig the new episode.

Once all the footage of Episode I is released as short episodes, we’ll cut a full-length version as well and will post that up.

See you on the Internet,

Great News! We’re up on Scifinal.com

Earlier this month we were approached by the folks in charge of the Scifinal.com website (SciFinal is a web directory about independently produced science fiction web series.)

You can check out the 7 Shades of Lenity profile of Scifinal.com here and you can help us by rating the show.

This means a host of new people can start to learn about our project and our message can start to reach farther.

We already have some folks in other countries looking in: Russia, Portugal, Israel.

It will only get bigger from here.

Another thing you can do to support us, is to leave comment on the articles we put out on the 7SoL site — it helps in our Google ranking.

Also, we’re planning on creating some merchandise which you’ll be able to purchase to support us (t-shirts, caps, etc.)

See you on the Internet,

1 More Scene to go! (Austin Texas Sci-Fi Web Series)

Here’s some exciting news — at least for us — there’s 1 more scene to finish editing and we will release the next installment of our Austin, Texas -based sci-fi webseries, 7 Shades of Lenity.

We have a new intro featuring the voice of Jack Blood of the Deadline Live Internet Talk Radio show.

We’re counting the days!

At time of release we’ll reveal more about the episode, but we wanted to give a quick little update so you know what’s going on.

See you on the Internet,

April 2010 Update {Austin Texas Sci-fi Web Series}

Here’s another extremely overdue update.

Two of the 3 scenes that will comprise Part II are pretty much finished. All they need is a little tweaking, some color correction, a little more soundtrack and that’s it.

The 3rd scene is being edited as we speak, and once the titles are done for it, it will go live… finally.

We’ve lost another editor, hence this section taking so long.

Here’s a quote on that: “Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.  ~Newt Gingrich”

Good news is we have found a new editor, Joe Handley, and we want to welcome him, and his help. We will post up a bio for him soon.

We’ve decided to hold off on shooting anything new until all the footage we have is cut. The fact that I have about 4 or 5 part-time jobs is slowing things down considerably, but we will get through it. We humbly apologize for it taking so long, and thank you for your perseverance.

In the coming section you’ll get to meet new characters, including one of hte villains, and see him in action.

Also, we will soon have a new logo made for the show – made here locally in Austin, of course – and we’ll be putting it on the site as well as on T-Shirts and merchandise, so you’ll be able to support us that way.

See you on the Internet,

Next Episode in Pre-Production {Austin Sci-fi web series}

OK, things are heating up!

The next installment (#2) of 7SoL is almost here thanks to our new editor, Carlos, who’s doing a fantastic job!

But, the show must go on, and the script for the next Episode is in the works! Originally, we had written and shot footage for a 42-minute pilot, but later decided to release it in small 4-7 minute increments, so we may have to renumber the episodes accordingly.

Now, we don’t want to give too much away, but this new episode will introduce a brand new character who we’re sure you’ll love to hate — enough about that for now, don’t want to spoil the surprise.

We’re also planning the largest scene we’ve ever shot, and will be recruiting a lot of extras to pull it off! It’s going to be exciting. Sal, one of our Blackhand agents and resident stunt choreographer (and a coach with 38 years experience) is going to help us pull it off!!! Can’t wait.

This next episode will see the continuation of 3 major storylines, and will reveal a little more of what’s taking place in Austin.

Anyway, that’s it for this update, see you on the Internet.

Interesting tidbits about 7SoL

You’ve probably heard it said that “things aren’t always what they seem.”

In 7 Shades of Lenity, we strove to make that a reality. Depending on how deep you want to go, there’s all kinds of layers to analyze.

For instance:

1. The title of the web series is actually an anagram for the plot

2. Anyus’ name is also an anagram

3. Every name has a meaning in the framework of the story

4. The TV station has a funny name/meaning

Why don’t you have a stab at guessing what some of those are. If the correct answers are posted, we will flag them as such :)

Quick Update

Hello everybody,

This is a short and sweet note to let you know what’s happening with 7SoL…

To clear things up, Episode I is being split into about 10 parts because it was written as a 42-minute pilot (which is what networks consider a 1-hour episode, with time for commercials).

So, Episode I part 1 is already out, and we’re working hard on getting part 2 out.

Episodes II and III have already been shot, with the exception of 2 short scenes. Episode IV is in planning stages, and we were planning to shoot it at the end of February, but with an unforeseen computer crash, I’ve been playing catchup for a while.

So, look out for part 2 soon, and we’ll update you when we get ready to shoot Episode IV.

See you on the Internet,

Episode I – Part 1 is online {Austin Texas Sci-fi web series}

At long last, it is here:

Originally, we were planning on getting all the cast and crew together, but since we’ve decided to release the episode in small 2-3 scene chunks to get things happening sooner rather than later, and to demand less of our first time viewers, no point getting everyone together for a 5 minute clip.

When the whole episode is edited, we’ll cut a full-length version and then invite everybody.

We’re going to upload it to a bunch more sites, and send it to friends and family here and abroad. Feel free to do the same. Let’s create a buzz, and let’s see what magic we can stir up! Once we’re done uploading to all our target sites, we’ll send those links out as well. :)

Thanks to everyone who’s been involved so far, and will be involved in the future!

Episode I will be split in about 10 parts, and we hope to upload part 2 very soon too!
