The Valentine’s Day Massacre {Austin Texas Sci-Fi Webseries}

This is the event that brought on the North American Union and the Police State.

With an ever worsening economy, and ever tightening grip on behalf of the government, many people flooded the streets in peaceful protest.

Like so many Internet generated events of the past, no one is completely sure who spawned it, but it grew like wildfire and the date was set, and people went out, at a National level, to protest the corporate gains at their expense.

The official story claims that it all started in Austin. A horde of terrorists were thrashing the town – unfortunately, most of the footage from the surveillance cameras that had already been installed didn’t capture much of the incident preceding the clash with Blackhand agents.

The report goes on to say that Blackhand had been dispatched to protect the people, to reinforce the Police presence. When the confrontation started, they were quick to respond. Teargas, rubber bullets, batons and even live bullets blanketed the streets. The report claims that the terrorists fired the first rounds of live ammo, and that Blackhand and the Police had no choice but to defend themselves.

It was a bloodbath.

Shortly after, in other cities, the story was the same. The body count was staggering.

As a result, Martial Law was instated, the Police were disbanded and the Blackhand Security Corporation was given control over all Judicial functions… Judge, Jury and Executioner. In a grimmer repeat of the events of Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina, the people were stripped of their guns, and any right of self-defense.

Due to the ensuing chaos and confrontations between the people who would not give up their arms quietly, and the violent response by Blackhand agents, the lawmakers dictated that no one, not even Blackhand, were allowed to carry firearms, and so the taser became the new weapon of choice. Civilians were not even allowed to carry Mace. The government had taken over completely — they would save the people.

The few people who questioned the VDM, as it later was dubed, soon found out why the major cities all had FEMA Camps built. Anyone disagreeing with the government was deemed a terrorist and interned — all previously legalized and authorized by the Patriot Act and its descendants.

The terrorist threat level never came down since then. Martial Law was in place; curfews were established; and soon RFID implant were mandated for every man, woman and child, shortly after birth (of course making billions for the corporations involved).

In a short amount of time, what was left of the once great United States of American soon became the North American Union — prompted by the collapse of the US Dollar, all three countries (United States, Canada and Mexico) joined together to survive the depression.

Whatever visible dissent used to exist, disappeared, and the citizenry became fully compliant.

“The drive of the Rockefellers and their allies is to create a one-world government combining supercapitalism and Communism under the same tent, all under their control…. Do I mean conspiracy? Yes I do. I am convinced there is such a plot, international in scope, generations old in planning, and incredibly evil in intent.” Congressman Larry P. McDonald, 1976, killed in the Korean Airlines 747 that was shot down by the Soviets

People were now simply cogs in the machine; the New World Order was close at hand. All civilized nations had joined into one of the 3 unions: The North American Union, the European Union (now encompassing Africa) and the Asian Union (including Australia, New Zealand and Oceania).

The only remaining step… a one world government.

Weapons

In the North American Union, civilians are not allowed to carry any weapons, for their own good.

The Blackhand corporation is tasked with Law and Order – they were placed in that position by the will of the 12 and their minions.  Despite their efforts to completely infiltrate police departments and military units, they found that at the lower levels, people were still people and they knew right from wrong, and would refuse to take certain immoral actions against the population.

They tried to push psychotropic medications en masse to the military and police, and although that did lower their moral barriers, it was found that a drugged up police and military were of little use, and they also saw an increase in suicides and mass shootings within those two entities.

Their solution was to turn to a corporation that already had members who were used to not having any restrictions in foreign countries, and had developed a “different” sense of duty and ethics… Blackhand.

Banning the use of guns was a 2-way measure against too much violence on behalf of both sides: the people who were outraged by Blackhand’s lack of humanity, and Blackhand’s lack of humanity taking their toll on the population.

The only weapons they are allowed are those with supposedly non-lethal force, like tasers, mace, etc.

Only the military are allowed to carry guns. But they are stationed away from the cities, and have authority only when called by the Governor to assist Blackhand in their operations. They’re tasked with the safety of each of the states that compose the North American Union, in theory. In practice, most military are used in wars abroad, leaving the field clean for Blackhand. Although, since Blackhand is a private corporation, and their fees are quite extensive, sometimes there aren’t enough agents other than in major cities.

The population are left with no chance of self-defense. If attacked they have to hope for a Blackhand unit to be at hand to defend them, or, if they decide both sides are guilty, to be taken into custody or simply dealt some “justice” on the spot. For this reason, most people are meek and fear Blackhand, and seldom ask for their help (since it gets turned around on them more often than not).
