Natalie Shanks
Natalie always loved art. The messier she got making art, the better she liked it! She earned a degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in Applied Design and Visual Arts, with a specialty in Scultpture and Fibers. After graduation, she spent the next 20 years in education as a High School art teacher and Counselor.
She has always loved film. When she watches a film, she finds herself more intrested in the props. scenery and colors, than what is going on in the the storyline. It seemed natural for her to explore Production Design and Set decoration as a new art medium.
After joining organizations like Reel Women and the Austin Film Society, she just had to get involoved. She has found the Austin filmaking community supportive, open and overall…great place to “learn the ropes”.
Natalie Shanks joined the series during the very late stages of Episode III pre-production, and has been an invaluable aid ever since.
