A few years after the Valentine’s Day Massacre led to the declaration of Martial Law in the former United State of America and it’s merger with Canada and Mexico, the corporations rule the land.

Government agencies such as the Justice Department were "bailed out" by Corporations who now take up those functions.

Blackhand Security has taken the role of policing and keeping the streets safe, at any cost, with no checks and balances.

The Armed Forces, engaged in never-ending foreign warns against terror are spread thin at home, and are used only for emergencies.

The 2nd Amendment has been canceled and only the military are allowed to carry weapons. Civilians aren’t even allowed tasers or pepper-spray.

Universal Healthcare has been established and the forced vaccination and over-medicating of people is common-place — all in an effort of "prevention."

Local governments are mere puppets of the greater North American Union, or NAU (pronounced "now").

The economy is in chaos, and most people are just able to make do. Despite this fact, there are no homeless, and the corporate-sponsored Detention Centers continually process new inmates.

But despite the fear and darkness, the spirit of Freedom lives on in Austin, Texas… as a rebellious group of Free Runners (the few who can avoid the surveillance cameras and outrun Blackhand) fight hard to remind people what the United States once stood for, and fan the fires of Rebellion.
